Kwasi Donsu is confident Medeama have the tools to challenge for the Ghana Premier League crown this season, but warned the team must no get carriedway by their fine start to the season.
The Mauve and Yellows finished seventh under former coach Augustine Evans Adotey, but things appear to have turned dramatically for the side under new trainer Samuel Boadu.
And Donsu, who won voted Man of the Match in the side’s 2-0 win over Dreams FC on Sunday, believes they can do much after a brilliant start to the 2017-18 season.
The Medeama star believes the highest Ghanaian ranked club by CAF in the past five years, will challenge for more silverware this term and thinks winning the league is a distinct possibility.
“It’s a good win for us but we must give respect to Dreams FC for the given us a tough assignment,” he told medeamasc.com
“The belief is always there. When you play for such a club you start every competition believing that you can win it.
“Some bad games didn’t allow us to win it last year, but we need to find that consistency that can make us fight in the last months and be one of those teams that will be up there.
“We’re really pleased with our start, but it’s only a start. We’ve won six games with confidence and good football. Let’s see how it goes going forward.”
Medeama next travel to the dreaded Golden City Park to host Berekum Chelsea after the league returns from a break.
