The sod cutting for the redevelopment of the Tarkwa NA Aboso Park will take place on Wednesday February 27.
A permission has been granted to demolish the existing structure, replacing it with a 10,000-capacity arena on the same site.
Ghana’s sports minister Isaac Asiamah, Member of Parliament for Tarkwa-Nsuaem Mireku Duker, Vice president of Goldfields West Africa Mr Alfred Baako, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Gilbert Asmah and Medeama president Moses Armah are among top officials expected to grace the mammoth occasion.
The chiefs and people of Tarkwa are also expected to attend the event.
The project is being funded by giants mining firm Goldfields -Tarkwa and Damang.

The revamped venue will also feature a complete seating capacity and involves redesigning the pitch, VIP, media stands, tickets boot, drainage amongst others.
